Job Summary
Teach elementary-aged children using a developmentally appropriate, nature-based curriculum that addresses the whole child within small classroom sizes. Collaborate closely with credentialed co-teachers, the teaching team, and the Director of Elementary School while adhering to progressive education tenets and the Developing Capable Young People approach to discipline. Incorporate Social and Emotional Learning and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging, and Justice initiatives daily. Maintain excellent communication and organizational skills to support outstanding parental collaboration. Work the M-F schedule from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm on the school's 26-acre campus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education
- Professional experience working with children elementary-aged children
- Willingness to commit professionally to progressive education tenets, the Developing Capable Young People approach to discipline, Social and Emotional Learning, nature-based learning, and VCS's DEIBJ initiatives
- Reliable, timely transportation
- Commitment to timeliness
