201106 - WMCH-Patient Care Technician Stepdown Daylight

Assists with the provision of patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. Performs duties in support of nursing care, including admission/transfer/discharge support, patient positioning and safety measures, collecting and recording vital signs, preparing specimens, and providing routine care and comfort measures. Administers care and treatments as instructed by the nurse (including basic procedures such as bathing, perioperative and post-operative care, catheter care, oral hygiene, and assistance with meals and nutrition), maintains unit cleanliness and supplies, follows sterile technique, documents skills performed, and participates in staff meetings. Requires completion of a nurse aide or patient care technician program or current nursing student status, with Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire. Minimum 1 year of clinical experience preferred; strong communication and ability to adapt to changing environments are valued. Shift: Day; Schedule: 36 hours per week; Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt.
