Job Summary
Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom where every child feels supported and encouraged. Design and lead age-appropriate lesson plans that spark learning and creativity while building strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues. Support diverse learning styles and celebrate every child's unique abilities in our Early Learning Programs. This role requires meeting Teacher qualifications as determined by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care and maintaining current Infant/Child CPR & First Aid certification. You must complete EEC fingerprinting prior to your first day and complete all required trainings and program orientation. The position offers a $2,000 sign-on bonus paid in installments over six months, plus health, dental, and employer-paid life insurance.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Meet Teacher qualifications as determined by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC)
- A solid understanding of children's growth and development
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Comfortable bending, twisting, reaching, and transitioning between sitting (including sitting on the floor!) and standing
- Willing to spend time outdoors in all seasons
- Able to react quickly and appropriately to the unpredictable actions of young children
- Complete EEC fingerprinting prior to your first day
- Keep all required documents and certifications current in your educator file
- Complete all trainings, certifications, and program orientation following EEC and YMCA of the North Shore guidelines
- Maintain current Infant/Child CPR & First Aid certification
