Job Summary
Assistant Teacher for 2-year-olds at St. Paul Catholic Preschool in Tampa. Supports the Lead Teacher in creating a nurturing, developmentally appropriate learning environment where children learn through purposeful play and hands-on experiences, utilizing PBS strategies and Creative Curriculum. Responsibilities include safety and care of children, assisting with curriculum implementation per Florida Standards and NAEYC guidelines, interacting with children and families, providing support to the lead teacher, diapering care, and classroom tidying. Requires High School Diploma, 40 hours DCF childcare training, and FBI fingerprint clearance; fluent English; positive, creative, and energetic demeanor. Working hours are 8:00am–12:15pm, Part Time. Education in Early Childhood preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 40 hours Childcare Training through the Department of Children and Families (DCF)
- Working towards a degree in Early Childhood preferred
- pass Level II FBI fingerprint clearance
- Safe Environment Program
- complete mandated trainings offered by the diocese and the local parish
- fluent speaking and writing skills in English
- prior experience with group of children in educational or catholic setting
