Job Summary
Night-shift, non-certified Patient Care Technician role at Princeton Community Hospital within WVU Health System. Performs nonprofessional direct and indirect patient care activities under the supervision of a registered nurse, coordinating with licensed medical staff. Responsibilities include observing and reporting patient concerns, assisting RN with admissions/transfers/discharges, recording vital signs and intake/output, assisting in specimen collection and personal care, maintaining a clean environment to aid infection control, communicating with RN about nutrition and diet changes, and supporting department operations and call bell response. Requires High School Diploma or equivalent, and Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire, with eligible credentials including nationally certified patient care technician, completion of WVUM Patient Care Technician program, or current state Nurse Aide/CNA certification (OH or WV). Prior patient care experience is preferred. The role involves working in a hospital setting with potential exposure to biohazards and infectious diseases, and requires physical stamina for heavy work, lifting, standing, and kneeling. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date
- Nationally certified patient care technician OR Completion of WVUM Patient Care Technician program OR Current Certified Nursing Assistant Certification issued by state where services are provided (OH – Nurse Aide through Ohio Nurses Aide Registry; WV – Nurse Aide through WV DHHR/OHFLAC)
