Job Summary
Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans for a 36-bed medical-surgical unit with a niche oncology population. Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions while collaborating across disciplines to coordinate care, including transfers, discharge, and referrals. Provide patient and family education tailored to age, culture, and condition, and effectively delegate care to ancillary personnel. Precept student nurses and new hires as needed. Work three 12-hour shifts weekly on the night rotation (7p-7a), with weekend and holiday coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Maine state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or ability to obtain in a timely fashion
- Registered Nurse (RN)

- Three 12-hour shifts one week and two 12-hour shifts the next
- Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition
- Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances
- Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel
- May precept student nurses and new hires
