Job Summary
Operate cash registers professionally, assist customers promptly, and sort, clean, and price merchandise for the Thrift Store. Ensure store cleanliness, display items marketably, and represent the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches and Sheriffs Ranches Enterprises positively to donors and the public. Perform checkout procedures and arrange items suitable for public marketing while maintaining a friendly, courteous, and professional demeanor. This part-time role requires 18 hours per week at $15.00 per hour and includes eligibility for overtime pay. Successful completion of a Level 2 background screening through the FDLE Clearinghouse is required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively with individuals and small groups
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Working knowledge of cash register and general office equipment
- Ability to meet customers and/or donors in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner
- Working knowledge of retail store operations, including sales, customer service, inventory, and pricing
- Ability to produce a high quantity and quality of work
- Ability to plan and organize work and meet deadlines
- Successful completion of a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse
