Job Summary
Bay Pines VAMC project: On-site construction management for EHRM infrastructure upgrades, providing full-time oversight during General Contractor operations. Responsibilities include coordinating submittals and submittal registers, reviewing submittals against project specs and VA standards, managing RFIs and responses, monitoring schedules with milestones and phasing, verifying as-built drawings and performing on-site inspections, identifying corrective actions, compiling defect/omissions lists for COR review, and producing observation reports, defect lists, modification narratives, sketches, and drawings. Qualifying candidates hold a four-year degree in a relevant field, at least 3 years of CM experience, OSHA 30, and experience in hospital IT/low-voltage infrastructure and healthcare construction, with familiarity with applicable codes and VA design guides.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of Architectural, Engineering, Construction Technology, or Construction Management college curriculum four (4) year degree minimum
- minimum of 3 years of relevant construction management experience
- OSHA 30 (or greater) certification within the last 5 years
- Experience with hospital Information Technology/Low Voltage Infrastructure construction or maintenance
- Experience with design and construction of healthcare infrastructure (heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, emergency power, and special systems)
- Experience with campus site infrastructure (utilities, roadways, parking)
- Experience with infection control during construction within active hospital settings
- Familiarity with engineering and construction codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, Florida Building Code, NEC)
- Familiarity with VA Design Guides/Manuals, Specifications, and other applicable standards preferred
