Job Summary
Construction Manager (CM) for on-site oversight of the EHRM Infrastructure Upgrades at Bay Pines VAMC. Provide full-time, on-site construction oversight during General Contractor operations, coordinating submittal reviews, RFIs, and schedule milestones; verify materials and methods meet project specifications, VA standards, and VA Medical Center requirements; perform field inspections and update as-built drawings; document defects/omissions and communicate corrective actions to the COR; deliver observation reports, modification narratives, and sketches as required. Requires a four-year degree in Architecture/Engineering/Construction Technology/Construction Management (or equivalent), 3+ years of CM experience, OSHA 30 within 5 years, and experience with healthcare infrastructure and VA standards.”,
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Technology, or Construction Management (4-year minimum)
- 3+ years of relevant construction management experience
- OSHA 30 (or greater) certification within the last 5 years
- Experience with hospital Information Technology/Low Voltage Infrastructure construction or maintenance (preferred)
- Experience with healthcare infrastructure design and construction (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical, emergency power, and related systems)
- Familiarity with VA Design Guides/Manuals and applicable codes (e.g., ASHRAE, NEC, Florida Building Code)
- Experience with project phasing to maintain hospital operations during construction
- Field verification of as-built drawings; ability to identify and communicate corrective actions to COR
- Ability to produce observation reports, defect lists, modification narratives, sketches, and drawings
- Experience with commissioning hospital infrastructure systems
- Ability to work on-site as Construction Manager for EHRM infrastructure upgrades
- Knowledge of VA/VA Medical Center requirements and standards
- Experience coordinating submittals, RFIs, and schedule management
- Strong understanding of construction management principles and practices
