Job Summary
Pre-K/early childhood teacher role in Little Rock, AR. Plan instruction to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth; formatively assess student progress; collaborate with families and staff; maintain an organized classroom; implement innovative instructional strategies; develop hands-on materials; adhere to DHS and ABC requirements; participate in ongoing professional development and coaching; and support curriculum goals and community involvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree minimum
- current Arkansas Teacher’s license for Elementary Education P-4 or Early Childhood Education (must include Preschool)
- Knowledge of and interest in learning instructional practices for young children with sensitivity to individual needs and cultural differences
- ability to apply current educational theory and practice; of cultural, socioeconomic, ethnic, and gender differences; and the principles of child growth and development when working with students, parents, administrators, community members, and support staff
- Willingness to complete required ABC trainings and participate in on-going staff development and coaching
- Commitment to staff development and to apply new techniques in the classroom
- ability and willingness to construct hands-on education materials to be utilized in the teaching of identified curriculum skills and concepts
