Job Summary
Collect trash, cardboard, and recyclable materials throughout Charlotte Douglas International Airport while emptying waste containers and replacing liners. Push and maneuver loaded tilt trucks and trash carts, transporting waste safely to designated disposal areas. Keep trash rooms, equipment, and disposal areas clean and organized, responding promptly to service requests and reporting spills or hazards. Follow all safety, security, and company procedures while working cooperatively with team members and airport personnel. This active, hands-on day-shift position requires standing and walking 94% of the time, lifting up to 80 pounds repeatedly, and working weekends. Candidates must pass a background check, obtain an airport security badge, and provide valid identification.
Required Qualifications
- Dependable, punctual, and ready to work each scheduled shift
- Comfortable performing physical work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to stand and walk for most of an eight-hour shift
- Able to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 80 pounds
- Willing and able to work Saturdays and Sundays
- Have reliable transportation for a 7:00 AM start time
- Follow instructions and work effectively with limited supervision
- Communicate in English or Spanish
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude
- Be at least 18 years old
- Pass a fingerprint-based, 10-year background check
- Complete the airport security badging process
- Obtain and maintain an airport security badge
- Comply with all airport safety and security requirements
- Present a valid state ID, driver's license, or document that contains a photo and establishes identity
- Provide one eligible original document (U.S. Birth Certificate, U.S. Passport, U.S. Naturalization Certificate, U.S. Permanent Resident Card, or U.S. Employment Authorization Document)
- Names on all documents must match
