Job Summary
Lead the 1st Shift MagStop Value Stream by operating within a team-based manufacturing cell while providing ongoing guidance to production associates. Ensure the work area maintains appropriate 5S standards and update Daily Management boards regularly. Coordinate with supervisors to maintain a safe environment, retrain associates on safety behaviors, and address quality concerns or defects immediately. Champion standard work methodology by identifying and problem-solving deviations, and coach associates on safe practices, time management, and adherence to plant rules. Act as a primary coordinator with Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance to solve issues and maintain open communication regarding personnel, safety, and productivity concerns. Interface with previous and following shift leaders to pass relevant information, subject to standard overtime scheduling and rotation.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be considered current 'expert' in the area
- Must be considered a 'Champion of Lean'
- Previous experience
- Post-secondary education preferred
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as general business periodicals, safety rules, quality instruction and process documentation, operating and maintenance instructions, technical and procedure manuals, and business correspondences
- Ability to write routine reports, operating instructions, procedure manuals, and business correspondences
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees and managers, customers, clients, and the general public
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must stand 100% of the day
