Job Summary
Operate spot or seam weld machines to fabricate metal parts according to blueprint specifications, determining welding points, contact cycles, and regulating current and timing devices. Rig equipment for positioning work, change electrodes, and use precision measuring tools like rules, squares, and gauges to control dimensional requirements. Work from drawings, samples, and templates while following established procedures subject to final inspection. This role requires at least twelve months of welding experience, a high school diploma, and competency in basic shop math. The position is a 1st shift role in Mayville with a competitive salary and benefits package.
Required Qualifications
- Previous knowledge of fixtures and spot weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, welding symbols, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Basic understanding of computers and ability to perform computer functions as they pertain to the job
- Demonstrated detail orientation, self-motivation skills and ability to multi-task
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Competent at basic dimensional measuring and able to quickly learn the use of precision measurement tools
- Demonstrated competency in basic shop math
- Ability to work with various types of metal forming constraints with guidance
- Demonstrated ability to effectively implement or respond to change
- Work in an efficient and timely manner
- Aptitude to take orders and execute the same efficiently
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- At least twelve months welding experience
- Successful completion of an internal welding test
Desired Qualifications
- Certificate or degree in welding is preferred
- Thirty-six months preferred
- Previous experience with overhead crane use is desired
