Job Summary

The Marine Junior Assembler will learn and perform valve assembly in Department 030 on the 1st shift, using hand and bench tools to assemble and operate machinery, and will work to produce valves to specification. With guidance, they will fabricate and test assemblies, apply sealants/greases/thread locker as required, read test reports, and possibly disassemble/repair products. Additional duties include minor material handling, operating hoists or lifting equipment, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace. The role requires basic reading skills for instructions and test reports, and a focus on quality, safety, productivity, and dependability, with a High School diploma/GED or related experience and the ability to meet physical demands.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and safety rules
  • Able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations
  • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination
  • Stand/walk for extended periods; lift up to 30 pounds; ability to perform moderate physical tasks
  • Willingness to learn operation of hand/bench type power tools and testing procedures (air/hydro testers)
  • Attend drug screen and physical capabilities tests as a condition of employment
