Job Summary
Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain complex mechanical, electrical, and facility systems using work orders, schematics, and manuals. Diagnose root causes, perform electrical tests, and replace defective components such as motors, valves, and gearboxes. Execute preventive maintenance activities, modify equipment per code, and document wiring changes. Assist in employee training, order materials through purchasing, and ensure safety compliance including lockout/tagout procedures. Work independently to prioritize breakdowns and respond quickly to equipment failures. Requires 8+ years of experience in manufacturing, ability to work overtime, and physical stamina for industrial conditions.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic, Industrial Mechanic, or similar role in a manufacturing, industrial, or plant environment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, pumps, motors, valves, and power transmission equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain production equipment and facility systems with minimal supervision
- Experience performing preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, adjustments, alignments, and mechanical rebuilds
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, technical drawings, and work orders
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, including troubleshooting of motors, sensors, controls, and related equipment
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, grease gun, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively
- Strong understanding of safety practices, lockout/tagout procedures, OSHA requirements, and safe work practices in an industrial environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritize maintenance needs, and respond quickly to equipment breakdowns
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality workmanship
- Must be able to lift, climb, bend, stand for extended periods, and work in industrial conditions as required
- Successful completion of a pre-employment written test is required as part of the selection process
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, or off-shift hours as needed to support production and maintenance requirements
