Job Summary
Machine Shop Quality Inspector responsibilities include meticulously inspecting machined parts, fabrications, and weldments using multiple inspection methods and tools, with inspections performed in accordance with established written procedures and specifications. The role may support additional work cells while maintaining high inspection and quality assurance standards. Responsibilities include performing detailed inspections to verify dimensions, tolerances, and quality; using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM); following written procedures to document results; inspecting castings, forgings, and weldments via visual and liquid penetrant methods; identifying non-conformities and communicating them for resolution; collaborating with production teams to ensure timely inspection of finished and rough castings; maintaining and calibrating inspection equipment; contributing to continuous improvement initiatives; adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean work environment. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree or vocational training in mechanical technology or a related trades area preferred
- Two or more years of related experience in industrial, mechanical, or machining product inspection preferred
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
- CMM experience is required; MCOSMOS or similar
- Ability to use inspection and measuring tools
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Experience with FaroArm is ideal but not required
