Job Summary
Operate various pieces of equipment to maintain quality of cut materials per custom or stock specifications, monitoring cutting performance and deburring as needed. Determine material types and gauges, read blueprints, and label job numbers accurately while inspecting product against the Inspection Control Plan. Maintain accurate system transactions in Factory Track/CSI, perform preventative maintenance on equipment, and stop production when nonconforming parts are detected. Ensure efficiency targets are met and keep scrap under $500 per calendar year. Requires forklift operation, blueprint reading, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds with assist.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must possess the ability to operate a forklift, overhead cranes, tape measure, calipers, and hand tools
- Must be able to determine material types and gauges
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds with an assist
- Must be able to read and write job numbers and label kits accordingly
- Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills
- Must possess strong attention to detail
- Must have forklift and material handling experience
- Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Must possess a keen sense of attention to detail
- Must have exposure to metal fabrication concepts and processes
- Must be able to sustain 95% efficiency
- Must maintain accurate and timely system transactions (Factory Track / CSI)
- Has the authority to stop production when nonconforming parts are detected
- Can maintain a high level of quality - must not have scrap in excess of $500 per calendar year
- Can inspect and clean equipment including all preventative maintenance
- Must perform all duties in conjunction with UAI and ISO requirements
- Must be able to use a ruler, tape measure, or caliper to perform accurate measurements per specific print and drawing tolerances
- Must be able to compute, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, of fractions and decimals
- Understands how to manage daily work expectations and goals
- Understands, interprets and follows foreman's report including priorities and start dates
- Understands cross check concepts and inspects product according to Inspection Control Plan
- Follows safe manufacturing and material handling practices
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for OT as required
- Must successfully complete Basic Skills/Measurement Test
- Must successfully complete Blueprint Reading Test
- Must successfully complete Pre-Employment Physical & Drug Screen
