Job Summary
Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts on raw materials, WIP, and finished goods to maintain accurate inventory records. Verify quantities staged on the shop floor, ensure proper labeling and bin locations, and assist with full physical inventories when required. Communicate with manufacturing, purchasing, and supervisors regarding shortages or discrepancies, then research and resolve variances through 8D root cause analysis. Move, weigh, and measure materials using pallet jacks, forklifts, or scales while organizing storage areas to support FIFO/FEFO standards. This role supports continuous improvement initiatives and ensures on-time delivery for customers within a fabrication shop environment.
Required Qualifications
- 1 + year of shipping/receiving experience
- Ability to correctly label bins, bags, and pallets with identification information
- Minimal computer skills
- Experience with inventory management and material handling
- Good attendance
- Communication skills
- Work ethic
- Flexibility
- Must be able to lift up to 100lbs
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to bend, kneel, and stoop
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
- Ability to be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, and chemicals
