Job Summary
1st shift forklift operator needed to safely operate propane/electric forklifts and clamping devices in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include pre-shift inspections, daily documentation, refueling and tank exchanges with safety protocols (gloves, valve checks), operating and maintaining clamps, completing a visual driving test, and achieving forklift certification after 90 days. Must follow the established checklist, coordinate with shipping/production leads, maintain a clean lift, and report any non-functional equipment to maintenance. Benefits include dental, health, and vision insurance; pay is $17.00 per hour with a Monday–Friday 7:30 AM–4:00 PM schedule through Abacus Staffing in Orlando, FL.
Required Qualifications
- Must complete visual driving test prior to operation
- Certification after 90 days of operating propane/electric powered lifts
- Operate propane/electric forklifts and clamping devices
- Perform pre-shift inspection and daily documentation
- Refuel and manage propane tanks safely (valve closed, gloves worn)
- Record keeping and reporting to shipping/production leads
- Safety training and forklift certification training
- Identify acceptable pallets and proper stacking heights
- Electric forklift charging during breaks and shift
- Report non-functional equipment to maintenance
