Job Summary

Read blueprints, program readouts, and technical directives to visualize finished parts and critical tolerances. Complete machine set-ups on CNC equipment including lathes, boring mills, milling machines, grinding machines, and shapers to produce precision components. Align parts according to set methods and reference points while exercising care to keep fixtures clear of chips. Use measuring instruments such as micrometers, height gages, and indicators to check accuracy and maintain critical dimensions during the machining process. Recognize defective tooling, improper coolant flow, or dimensional deviations, then adjust machines, tools, or fixtures or obtain assistance from a higher-level machinist. Perform these duties Monday through Thursday from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM in a modern, air-conditioned manufacturing facility. Gleason, a leader in gear technology, uses its products in e-mobility, aerospace, agriculture, and wind energy applications.

Required Qualifications

Previous CNC machine operation experience
Ability to learn specific computer software and systems
Knowledge of 'trade' mathematics
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
Must be able to use proper lift assistance for any objects over 40 pounds
