Job Summary
CNC Lathe Operator for 1st shift at Cleveland Gear Company in Cleveland, OH. Responsibilities include setting up and operating CNC lathes and secondary machines, selecting tooling, inspecting products to blueprint, updating setup records, loading/storing programs, performing preventive maintenance, cleaning work area, moving parts to next operation, and writing/editing CNC programs. Requires English literacy, ability to operate hoist/crane, and experience in a machine shop or vocational training (high school graduate required; five years experience preferred on CNC lathes). On-going training covers hoist/crane operation, safety, and machine operation. Competitive benefits package emphasized.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to read and write in English
- Must be able to operate hoist or crane
- High school graduate
- One (1) year machine shop experience on CNC lathes or high school graduate and six (6) months experience on CNC lathes
- Two (2) years vocational school or one (1) year machine shop experience
- Ability to read blueprints and understanding of tolerances
- Editing of programs
- Familiar with quality procedures and requirements
- Setup and operation of equipment
