Job Summary
Manufacture roof and floor trusses on the shop floor by handling lumber and truss plates, setting jig templates, and assembling parts per shop drawings. Operate equipment including skill saws, miter saws, and pressure presses to band finished goods and mark trusses with part numbers. Lead the assembly team at the workstation while maintaining a clean work area and adhering to safety requirements. Requires ability to read tape measures, understand truss mathematics, and work in a team environment with frequent lifting of up to 70 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Comfortable using the following equipment: Skill saw; Miter saw; Tape measure; Hammer; Wrench for jig hardware
- Knowledge of manufacturing specifications and tolerances
- Ability to build to manufacturing specifications and tolerances
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment
- Ability to deal with problems involving few concrete variables in standardized situations including communicating mechanical issues with operations and/or maintenance
- Must frequently lift and move up to 70 pounds
