Job Summary
Monitor clients at all times during rounds, logging their whereabouts and supervising program activities with emphasis on safety and wellbeing. De-escalate client problems, including AMA situations, and provide emotional support while referring clinical issues to therapy staff. Record inventory logs of personal belongings and valuables, complete lab requisitions, and ensure proper garbage disposal and room cleanliness. Transport clients as needed and maintain accurate logbooks for shift turnover to ensure continuity of care. Report safety, maintenance, and rule infractions immediately to other staff.
Required Qualifications
- Valid state driving license with no major violations in past five (5) years
- Must be detail-oriented
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines as well as be flexible and dependable
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must have ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- Empathetic and non-judgmental approach when working with clients from diverse backgrounds
- Familiar with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Desired Qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED preferred
- Experience working in substance abuse and/or mental health preferred
