Job Summary
Set up and safely operate conventional sheet-feed printing presses while providing direction to the print crew to ensure optimum quality and production efficiency. Review production schedules and job tickets to determine specifications, then adjust controls for ink and water balance using color management technology to maintain consistency with customer proofs. Perform quality checks before, during, and after runs, documenting non-conforming products and reporting issues to resolve them. Monitor the second press operator, maintain a clean work environment adhering to Food Safety and GMP standards, and actively participate in continuous improvement projects. Lead the shift crew, assist in training new operators, and represent the plant during customer press checks.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or (GED)
- minimum of 5 years experience operating a large format, sheet-fed conventional press
- experience in the folding carton industry
- basic computer skills with the ability to effectively utilize software and other technology
- mechanical abilities and skills
- ability to read and understand documents, letters, etc.
- write legibly in English
- understand and speak clearly, communicate, and understand directions in English
Desired Qualifications
- experience with LED inks
