Job Summary
Lead operational risk and controls thought leadership for RiverSource Insurance and Annuities by developing strategies that drive risk identification, quantification, and mitigation. Establish a governance framework to monitor process efficacy, benchmark industry data, and influence adoption of protocols across all regions. Identify high-risk processes, build annual testing programs, and act as the escalation point for risk events, ensuring timely logging, remediation tracking, and crisis prevention. Provide oversight on Key Risk Indicators, facilitate stress tests for operational resiliency, and coach teams on best practices. Work independently to drive results while managing deadlines and influencing leadership across business units.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent
- 7 to 10 years relevant experience
- Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills
- Ability to meet deadlines while juggling multiple priorities
- Strong ability to lead, partner and influence others
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Advanced Risk knowledge
- Valid work authorization that does not now, or in the future, require visa sponsorship for employment in the United States
Desired Qualifications
- Certifications: CFA, CRM or similar
- Knowledge of risk and controls management
- Strong internal and external relationship management skills
