Job Summary
Plan a program of study that adheres to state and district guidelines, promotes district goals, and meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students. Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and, in harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects to communicate these objectives to students. Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives. Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required. Follow accommodations and modifications for individual students as set forth in students’ 504 Plans and Individualized Education Plans. Maintain professional competence through professional development activities provided by the district and self selected growth activities. Demonstrates dependability, punctuality, initiative, and enthusiasm toward work. Follows the policies and procedures of the the school district and abides by Missouri statutes. Assumes out of class responsibilities. Demonstrates a sense of professional responsibility. Supervises volunteers, paraprofessionals or student teachers/cadets as assigned. Prepares necessary materials for substitutes. Conduct self at all times as a representative of the school in a positive and professional manner. Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the building administrator.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- Possess the necessary certification for the position as required by the Missouri State Board of Education
- Meet any other requirement as may be deemed necessary by the Local Board of Education
