Job Summary
Teach first-grade math, literacy, phonics, reading, writing, science, and social-emotional skills using differentiated instruction and inquiry-based learning. Manage the classroom while collaborating with faculty to foster student well-being and academic success. Engage in after-school coaching, club leadership, and enrichment programs. Maintain valid fingerprint clearance and be prepared to work outside normal hours or travel. Participate in all aspects of school life to nurture lifelong learners within an innovative Jewish Day School community.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Must be able to pass an initial fingerprint and background clearance check
- Must maintain a valid fingerprint clearance card at all times when in the classroom
- Must be able to lift and carry heavy, bulky supplies and materials weighing up to 20 pounds
Desired Qualifications

- Two to five years of experience
- Demonstrated commitment to equitable and inclusive practices, with respect to pedagogy, curriculum, instruction, and assessment
- A strong understanding of the developmental and learning needs of lower school children
- Ability to provide differentiated instruction for specific lessons, skills sets, and/or units of study
- Enjoy working with an innovative grade-level team to foster the emotional well being and academic success of students
- Excellent classroom management
- Ability to collaborate with other faculty, speciality teachers, staff, and administration
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- A desire to work in a school that prizes excellence in academics while nurturing students to become lifelong learners
- An engaging teaching style
- A strong desire to be part of an innovative, collaborative team to foster the emotional well being and academic success of students
- Ability to create strong relationships with parents
- Participation in all aspects of school life, including after-school coaching, club leadership, and enrichment programs
- Strong organizational skills
- Able to appreciate working in a Jewish Day School
- May be required to work outside normal working hours
