Job Summary
Implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and Texas Education Agency guidelines while integrating technology to address diverse learning styles. Conduct ongoing assessments using formal and informal methods to monitor student progress and tailor instructional activities. Manage student behavior effectively, enforce school rules, and ensure the safety and security of students and facilities. Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula for IEP compliance and supervise instructional aides and volunteers. Establish a positive classroom environment, maintain accurate record-keeping for grading and reporting, and foster open communication with parents and colleagues. Lead extracurricular activities as assigned and participate in faculty meetings and staff development opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for the subject and level assigned
- Knowledge of subject(s) assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiating instruction based upon student learning styles
- Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis, and the formulation of action plans
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Ability to engage in self-evaluation regarding performance and professional growth
- Demonstrate professionalism, ethical conduct, and accountability in all interactions and responsibilities
- Advanced organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- One (1) year of clinical teaching experience or one (1) year of full-time teaching experience
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree (preferred)
- ESL certification (preferred)
- Or ability to obtain ESL certification within one year of hire
- One (1) year of clinical teaching experience or one (1) year of full-time teaching experience (preferred)
