Job Summary
The Lead Classroom Teacher at Good Shepherd Catholic School supports Catholic education by delivering high-quality 1st grade instruction aligned with Archdiocesan standards, supervising students, preparing and grading assignments, and communicating with parents. Responsibilities include planning, delivering, and assessing lessons, maintaining attendance and academic records, ensuring a safe and orderly learning environment, and collaborating with staff and families. Requirements include being a fully initiated Catholic, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to teach multiple age levels; preferred experience includes at least 2 years of teaching, lesson-creation, and data-driven assessment.
Required Qualifications
- Be a fully initiated Catholic in the communion of the Catholic Church and intentionally living out the five precepts of the Church (CCC 2041-2043)
- A love for children of all ages and commitment to their academic, spiritual, moral, and social growth and development
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Preferred: 2 years’ experience as a teacher, trainer, or equivalent
- Experience creating engaging lessons
- Experience in assessing students and analyzing student data
