Job Summary
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in the future. Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that reflect district curriculum and guidelines; differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles; collaborate with staff to plan instructional goals; utilize digital tools to promote student learning; assist in selecting instructional materials; monitor student achievement through assessments; support students with IEPs and ELL needs; maintain open communication with families; engage in professional development and potential leadership opportunities within the campus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
- ESL certification required for K-5 RLA or self contained special education or general education classroom assignments
- ESL certification preferred for Math, Science, Social Studies teaching assignments
- Student teaching or approved internship
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Physically able to monitor student discipline and progress and to meet other student needs as required
- Physically able to move about the room to perform formative assessments and facilitate small and large group instruction
