Job Summary
Implement the district's instructional program and educational philosophy by developing effective lesson plans, presenting subject matter clearly, and managing classroom behavior through positive discipline techniques. Coordinate with team members, the librarian, and staff to plan activities, administer the classroom, and ensure student safety during on-campus and off-campus events. Maintain accurate records for student evaluations, attendance, textbooks, and parent conferences while initiating communications to inform parents of programs and progress. Report to work daily per the schedule approved by the campus principal and remain current on education literature and workshops.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited College or University
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
- At least one year of student teaching or approved internship
- Reading Certification for teachers applying to teach K-3 students or currently enrolled
- Knowledge of subjects assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Maintain emotional control under stress
- Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
- Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom or adaptive equipment
- Adheres to the Texas Education Code of Ethics and supports the District's philosophy
- Report to work daily per your schedule approved by your campus principal
Desired Qualifications
- Five years of successful classroom experience
- Reading Certification for teachers applying to teach Pre-k, Grade 4, and Grade 5
