Job Summary
Develop and implement curriculum plans for core academic subjects while accommodating individual student needs, including bilingual/ESL learners and those with IEPs. Present subject matter according to Texas Education Agency guidelines and monitor achievement through formative and summative assessments. Manage classroom behavior, create a conducive learning environment, and maintain open communication with students, parents, and staff. Compile required reports, attend faculty meetings, and participate in district professional development. Work 187 duty days as an exempt teacher reporting to the Campus Principal, requiring a Bachelor's degree and valid Texas teaching certificate.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Valid Texas teaching certificate for subject/level assigned
- Completion of Texas Reading Academy required for Elementary
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent with technology use and actively integrates technology to enhance student learning
- At least one year of student teaching or approved internship
- Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
- Must maintain emotional control and exercise reasoning and problem-solving skills while under stress
- Should be able to interpret procedures and analyze data for decision-making
Desired Qualifications
- ESL Supplemental Certification preferred
