Job Summary
Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula to meet ambitious academic expectations for 1st grade ELA students. Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance, conduct formal and informal assessments to track progress, and adjust instruction based on data analysis. Communicate individual student progress with families weekly while maintaining a consistent behavior management system that fosters a productive learning environment. Host necessary tutoring sessions to meet all students' needs and participate in weekly manager check-ins, grade-level meetings, and before/after-school duties. Maintain a minimum of 40+ hours at school per week, with additional responsibilities for Saturday school based on campus needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
- Teachers of record for students in K-3 must possess appropriate Reading Academies certification in accordance with TEA requirements or must be willing and able to obtain all relevant TX training within required timelines
- Minimum of 40+ hours spent at school per week
Desired Qualifications
- High level of content-area proficiency as evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work-experience
- Experience in a K-12 classroom setting
- Bilingual certification
