Job Summary
1st Grade Bilingual Teacher responsible for meeting and instructing assigned classes in Mission, TX with 187 working days. Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning; prepare and provide written evidence of preparation; manage student behavior; employ varied instructional techniques and media; protect students and property; evaluate progress; maintain accurate records; enforce school rules and policies; be available to students/parents outside instructional time; participate in faculty meetings; collaborate with staff on instructional goals; assist in selecting instructional materials; establish professional relationships with students and parents; pursue ongoing professional growth through reading, seminars, conferences, and advanced coursework; take on co-curricular duties as assigned while prioritizing teaching responsibilities. Reports to Principal; Exempt-Professional; salary per district schedule. Location: Mission, Texas.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
- Be knowledgeable in effective schools research, principles of accreditation standards, TEA requirements, teaching techniques and methodology, physical, mental and emotional child development, and special needs of exceptional learners
