Job Summary
Operate hydraulic, friction, and dockside cranes, forklifts, and cherry pickers in a shipyard environment while adhering to OSHA safety standards and load chart specifications. Perform physically demanding outdoor tasks, including routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance, supported by consistent attendance and reliable transportation. Candidates must pass an in-person written assessment and demonstrate strong communication with riggers and signal personnel.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating hydraulic cranes
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating friction cranes
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating dockside cranes
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating forklifts
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating cherry pickers
- Experience working in shipyard environments
- Valid crane operator certification (NCCCO or equivalent)
- Ability to read and interpret load charts and follow proper rigging practices
- Ability to pass an in-person written test
- Strong understanding of OSHA and jobsite safety standards
- Ability to work outdoors and perform physically demanding tasks
- Reliable transportation
- Consistent attendance
- Must be able to pass an in-person written assessment
- Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, outdoor setting
