Job Summary
Perform all work according to MSHA and H&K Safety policies while maintaining clean work areas including catwalks, walk-ways, and the general plant area. Execute plant maintenance, proactively learn plant functions and operations, and obtain knowledge to complete assigned tasks. Take direction from and work in a team with all other site personnel, cross training to learn all jobs of the plant to substitute when necessary. This role requires a safety-focused, action-oriented candidate with a high school diploma or equivalent, effective communication skills, and the ability to fit test and utilize appropriate PPE. Experience operating heavy equipment, specifically loaders, is preferred. The position is open for the 1st and 2nd shifts at H&K Group's Silver Hill Quarry in Narvon, PA.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution OR related experience and/or training
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
- Must be available for 1st and 2nd Shift
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds regularly, 50 pounds frequently, and 100 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must be able to stand and walk regularly
- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to talk or hear
- Must be able to sit occasionally
- Must be able to work in high, precarious places
- Must be able to work with moving mechanical parts
- Must be able to work in outside weather conditions
- Must be able to work with fumes or airborne particles
- Must be able to work with vibration
- Must be able to work with occasional risk of electrical shock
- Must be able to work in a loud noise level
- Must pass pre-employment drug testing
- Must pass pre-employment physical
Desired Qualifications
- 3+ months related experience
- Experience operating heavy equipment
- Loader operation experience
- Experience working in a quarry, heavy civil construction, or other outdoor industrial setting
- MSHA or other relevant safety certification
