Job Summary
Develop and maintain new features for the existing Swift-based iOS application using SwiftUI, UIKit, CoreLocation, and MapKit. Integrate Python-based Machine Learning models for on-device inference and species identification while managing data contracts with backend services. Lead the migration from native Swift to React Native or Flutter by defining the technical strategy, executing pilot projects, and driving production releases. Design and enhance geospatial functionality including GPS tracking, map overlays, and offline synchronization for low-connectivity environments. Collaborate with the backend team to define API contracts for authentication, real-time data, and ML endpoints, then manage versioning, TestFlight deployments, and CI/CD pipelines.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience developing and publishing production mobile applications for both iOS and Android
- Demonstrated experience building commercial applications using React Native or Flutter
- Strong proficiency in Swift
- SwiftUI
- UIKit
- Hands-on experience with CoreLocation
- MapKit
- GPS
- Geofencing
- Map overlays
- Experience building offline-first mobile applications using CoreData
- SQLite or equivalent persistence technologies
- Experience integrating Machine Learning models using Core ML
- TensorFlow Lite (TFLite)
- Remote inference services
- Experience designing and integrating REST APIs
- Solid understanding of the complete mobile application release process for Apple App Store
- Google Play Store
- Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of technical ownership and accountability
- Intermediate to advanced English proficiency, with the ability to collaborate effectively with international teams
