Job Summary
Lead supervisory activities over designated banks and banking groups, including assessing strategies, business models, risk profiles, and risk-management practices. Analyze evolving economic environments and emerging risks, develop analytical methods for risk-based regulatory data submissions, and prepare detailed reports and feedback after on-site reviews and prudential meetings with senior management, executives, and boards. Manage correspondence, maintain electronic records, and undertake ad hoc projects while serving as a relationship manager to banks and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Supervisory oversight experience in the banking/financial sector
- Regulatory compliance knowledge (Banks Act 94 of 1990 and related regulations)
- Ability to prepare quantitative and qualitative reports
- Experience in on-site reviews and prudential meetings with banks' management
- Strong liaison and relationship-management skills with external auditors and boards
Desired Qualifications
- NQF 8: Honours degree or Postgraduate qualification
- Experience in supervisory oversight of banks or financial institutions
- Regulatory compliance knowledge (Banks Act or equivalent)
- Analytical skills for risk assessment and supervisory reporting
- Stakeholder liaison with banks, auditors, and management
