Job Summary
Lead and supervise maritime operations as a 1600 Ton Master Mate in a contract/temporary role with full remote work. Responsibilities include navigating and operating vessels up to 1600 gross tons, planning routes, monitoring weather, supervising docking/undocking and towing, maintaining operation logs, coordinating with marine engineers, and conducting regular safety inspections. Requires MMC with endorsements for 1600-Ton Master/Mate, USCG Medical Certificate, Water Survival (T-HUET/BOSIET/FOET), API-RP-2D rigging certification, TWIC, and related safety/training credentials. Demonstrated leadership, clear communication, and ability to work under maritime regulatory frameworks.
Required Qualifications
- Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) with appropriate endorsements for a 1600-Ton Master or Mate
- USCG Medical Certificate
- Water Survival certification including T-HUET, BOSIET or FOET
- Rigging certification per API-RP-2D
- TWIC
- Safety/Training certifications such as Safegulf, PEC, or Rig Pass
- Proven ability to operate vessels up to 1600 gross tons
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Knowledge of maritime law and regulations
- Experience in navigation, docking/undocking, towing operations
- Detail-oriented log maintenance
