Job Summary
Managing Director, Sourcing & Procurement leading the client relationship, service delivery and economic outcomes for a major account in healthcare; responsible for indirect spend governance, category management, cost-reduction initiatives, and ensuring value delivery across multiple workstreams. Drive procurement transformation, establish governance structures, and partner with executive sponsors to achieve aggressive savings targets. Build executive-level trust, oversee cross-functional teams, and mentor onsite staff while delivering upsell and same-account growth. Requires a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred), 15+ years in strategic sourcing/procurement, strong financial acumen, and demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders; travel to client sites is expected in a remote role.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum 15 years or progressive leadership experience in strategic sourcing and procurement across indirect categories
- Strong financial acumen with multi-year experience building, managing and delivering against P&Ls
- Proven track record of growth in managing relationships over time
- Demonstrated executive presence and ability to develop relationships and influence senior management
- Ability to manage a group of peers through influence to affect positive outcomes
- Proven ability to drive operational and organizational change management
- Ability to gain consensus across multiple business units
- Strong problem solving and leadership skills
- Willingness to travel for client engagements (remote role with periodic travel to St. Louis, MO)
