Job Summary
Conduct greenhouse operations by establishing environmental conditions, managing irrigation and climate control systems, and performing planting, pruning, and harvesting activities. Monitor soil and water quality, implement integrated pest management, and maintain equipment while completing daily operational checks and sanitation protocols. Prepare crops for distribution, track yields and production data, and ensure all activities adhere to safety and quality assurance standards. Integrate Haudenosaunee food knowledge into planting plans and support staff training within the Department of Well-Being.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a diploma program in Greenhouse Technician, Horticulture Technician or related field
- 2-3 years demonstrated experience operating a greenhouse
- Must possess a Greenhouse Structural Exterminator's License
- Must possess a valid 'G' class license and a vehicle
- High level of computer skills – Microsoft Office, MS Word & Excel
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with Haudenosaunee food and food ways
- Familiar with the Six Nations community and services available in the area
- Strong organizational skills and, able to work independently and work cooperatively with other service providers
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
