Job Summary
Supervises hourly staff in a busy retail store, assisting the Store Manager and District Manager in achieving store objectives, driving profitability, and maintaining service standards. Directly supervises sales staff, stockers, cashiers, receivers, and other non-management team members; assists in hiring, training, scheduling, and inventory processes. Key duties include maintaining uniform standards, opening/closing procedures, cash handling and till reconciliation, responding to after-hours alarms, driving guest service standards, ensuring OSHA/safety compliance, and coordinating with Loss Prevention. Roles emphasize teamwork, problem solving, staff development, and effective communication to execute store operations and deliver exceptional customer service. Required credentials include a TABC Beverage Sellers Permit (and Food Handler/Manager permits where applicable), with formal education or equivalent supervisory-experience preferred; 21+ years old eligibility per state law. Typical hours for this full-time role are 38+ per week with availability across business hours, and a focus on maintaining performance and safety in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Previous supervisory experience or completion of the MIT program
- Retail sales management experience preferred
- Associate degree or higher preferred, but experience acceptable
- Must maintain valid TABC Beverage Sellers Permit; in some cases, a valid Food Handlers or Food Managers Permit
- Must be over age 21 per state law
- Bilingual skills are a plus
