Job Summary
Plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in an elementary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Maintain a highly organized classroom and participate in ongoing curriculum evaluation and development to meet students' needs. Collaborate with faculty to deliver instruction aligned with TN State standards, fostering independent thinking, creative problem solving, and abstract reasoning. Demonstrate empathy and understanding of students, proactively resolve issues with students and parents, facilitate parent/student/teacher conferences, pursue ongoing professional development, and adhere to policies set by the Jackson-Madison County School Board and Tennessee Department of Education.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree as required by the State of Tennessee
- Teacher's certificate with qualifying endorsement area
- FBI/TBI Background Clearance every five (5) years
- Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent might find appropriate and acceptable
