Job Summary
The Summer Day Camp Assistant supports the Day Camp Activities Coordinator and other staff in the daily operations of summer programs, leading activities for children while ensuring a safe environment. Responsibilities include implementing behavior management procedures, preparing lesson plans, assisting with meals, and maintaining confidentiality regarding child issues. Ideal candidates should have the ability to work well with diverse groups, possess a Class C license, and demonstrate a commitment to child development philosophies consistent with The Salvation Army's mission.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 21 years of age, preferred
- Class C License and able to drive, preferred
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English
- Ability to think creatively and outside of the box
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Musical ability preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
