Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Sports & Recreation Manager, Sports & Recreation Coaches work with youth of various ages to supervise and assist in sports and recreation activities. Coaches ensure player safety, implement discipline procedures, communicate respectfully with all participants, and maintain accurate attendance records. Essential skills include the ability to work well with children and parents in a leadership role, handle security situations calmly, engage children in activities, and adhere to the mission and values of The Salvation Army Kroc Center.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must have ability to work and relate well with people.
- Must attend staff, child safety, and other trainings as directed.
- Must have a philosophy of education, child, and player development which is consistent with that of The Salvation Army Kroc Center.
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
- Ability to relate joyfully and sensitively to children of all ages.
- Ability to provide constant and continual supervision.
