Job Summary

Oversee capital improvement initiatives across a geographically diverse portfolio, ensuring renovation and repair projects execute efficiently, cost-effectively, and in alignment with asset business plans. Act as the central liaison between ownership and property operators to monitor project execution, resolve issues, and uphold quality and financial discipline while leading third-party partners and on-site teams. Manage complex projects from budgeting and planning through closeout, utilizing proficiency with construction software and modern reporting systems. Requires extensive Capex or construction management experience, financial literacy for budget development, and willingness to travel 50–60% to project sites across the U.S., with a preferred location in Central U.S. markets.

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive background in Capex or construction management, ideally within the multifamily or commercial real estate sectors
  • Track record of managing complex capital projects from budgeting and planning through closeout and performance evaluation
  • Ability to lead third-party partners and on-site teams, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
  • Proficiency with construction and project management software tools and strong familiarity with modern reporting systems
  • Deep understanding of facilities operations, including maintenance protocols, unit turnover processes, and preventive programs
  • Exceptional financial literacy—capable of developing budgets, analyzing cost reports, and interpreting performance metrics
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, with a collaborative yet firm approach to accountability
  • Bachelor's degree required (Construction Management, Engineering, Real Estate, or related field)
  • Willingness to travel up to 50–60% to project sites across the U.S.
