1099 CONTRACTOR - CSC DC Support Group Facilitator

Job Summary
Facilitate virtual, in-person, or hybrid support groups for individuals impacted by cancer using Cancer Support Community methodology to help members explore emotions, reduce distress, and foster connection. Create a supportive environment where participants share cancer-related experiences, encourage mutual support, and promote active engagement in care. Serve as host for educational workshops and special events, introducing speakers, fielding questions, and reporting outcomes to the Program Director. Participate in orientation training, attend monthly facilitator meetings, and complete required documentation including time sheets and reports. Perform additional duties as assigned, including one-on-one communication with participants and administrative meetings. Maintain active licensure as a Master's level mental health professional in the District of Columbia and provide professional liability insurance.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed at the Master's level in a mental health profession (e.g., Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Clinical Psychology)
- Active license to practice in the District of Columbia at the time of hire
- Proof of active licensure
- Professional liability insurance coverage
- Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in group facilitation
- Commitment to follow CSC's psychosocial support methods and therapeutic community model
- Ability to work effectively with individuals facing serious or chronic illness
- Proficiency with virtual platforms, primarily Zoom
- Ability to facilitate groups in both virtual and in person as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Licensure in Maryland
- Licensure in Virginia
- Timeline for obtaining additional licensure in Maryland and Virginia
- Oncology experience
