Job Summary
Implement Individual Support Plans, lead Direct Support Professionals through shifts, and ensure consistent adherence to daily scheduled activities. Supervise residents during meal preparation, recreation, and personal care while documenting medications, behavior data, and cleaning schedules. Coordinate with families, guardians, and external agencies to foster community involvement and employment opportunities. Serve as the primary shift contact, communicating updates to administrative personnel and maintaining compliance with DDS regulations and safety standards. Perform safety checks, assist with fire drills, and handle physically demanding situations including emergency responses. Maintain First Aid, CPR, MAP, and PABC certifications while attending required program reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 21+
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Daily use of a car
- Must maintain active MAP certification
- Will need to obtain MAP certification within 3 months of hire
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in fluent English
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the program and individuals supported
- Ability to assist residents with personal care, including lifting and transferring individuals
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, overnight coverage, and occasional overtime as needed
- Must be able to handle physically demanding situations, such as assisting in emergencies or behavioral crises
- Must be able to meet physical requirements, including assisting with resident transfers, personal care, and handling emergency situations
Desired Qualifications
- B.A./B.S. in education, psychology, rehabilitation, or related field
- One year of experience in human services
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
