Job Summary
Seeking a Behavior Support Specialist to provide behavioral support in classroom environments and assist families of children with challenging behaviors. Responsibilities include crisis intervention, implementing support plans, ongoing observation, and technical assistance in collaboration with specialists.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Education/Special Education, Psychology, with at least one year work experience
- Related Human Services Associates degree with at least three years’ work experience
- At least one year experience with low income children and families
- Knowledge of Preschool philosophies, Functional Behavior Assessment, Individualized Support Plans
- Knowledge of Trauma Sensitive approaches and assessment
- Sensitive to and embracing of diverse backgrounds and English Language Learners
- Team player, dependable, self-motivated
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with support planning techniques
- Trauma Informed Care knowledge
- Ability to relate to children and staff
- Ability to plan and execute training of staff creatively
- Experience in behavior guidance techniques
Additional Requirements
- Must pass SCR clearance
- Must be free of criminal convictions against children
