Job Summary

Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs across guest rooms, public areas, and mechanical systems including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. Respond immediately to work orders and guest reports for non-functioning equipment, ensuring all facilities remain in operating condition. Perform daily inspections of lighting, signage, and hallways while maintaining a preventative maintenance schedule and reporting progress to management. Troubleshoot complex repairs involving drywall, painting, and carpentry, and assist senior staff on larger projects. Ensure full compliance with fire safety regulations and hotel standards while keeping all work areas neat and orderly.

Required Qualifications

  • Two Years of Description Maintenance/engineering experience required in a hotel or related field
  • An ability to work safely and confidently with unenergized circuits from 120V
  • Proven organization and time management skills
  • Guest-focused, optimistic, self-disciplined, and a self-starter
  • Problem solver, self-motivated, able to learn more skills to serve guests and the company better
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of written and oral instructions
  • Multi-task oriented
  • Ability to overcome unexpected obstacles through resourceful means
  • Neat, professional appearance and good personal hygiene
  • Able to work on varied schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel
  • Attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required

  • Ability to communicate with guests, associates, and management
  • Ability to take directions from hotel and housekeeping management

  • Must be able to respond immediately to customer and hotel staff reports of non-functioning equipment
  • Must be able to maintain rooms in operating condition by performing repairs as needed
  • Must be able to maintain hotel equipment in proper working condition
  • Must be able to respond to and complete all work orders promptly
  • Must be able to close work orders as completed
  • Must be able to conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities and equipment
  • Must be able to be extremely courteous to all customers and fellow employees
  • Must be able to help maintain the overall appearance of the hotel's public spaces and hallways
  • Must be able to respond to guest requests for maintenance issues
  • Must be able to check all exterior lighting, public area lighting, and signage daily
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and repair electrical issues
  • Must be able to perform routine maintenance tasks such as plumbing fixture repair and replacement
  • Must be able to perform PVC pipe repair and replacement
  • Must be able to perform drain clearing and repair
  • Must be able to perform water heater repair
  • Must be able to perform drywall, wallpaper, painting, caulking, tile repair
  • Must be able to replace windows, doors, locks, furniture
  • Must be able to paint and touch up all areas of the hotel
  • Must be able to maintain guest rooms to perfect condition
  • Must be able to assist senior maintenance staff with larger projects
  • Must be able to assist senior maintenance staff with repairs and installations
  • Must be able to perform maintenance on mechanical equipment (washers, dryers, vacuum cleaners, gates, etc.)
  • Must possess good mechanical knowledge of how to operate and maintain all tools safely
  • Must keep all work areas, shop, and guest rooms neat and orderly
  • Must keep work areas clean and organized
  • Must have a thorough understanding of hotel fire alarm procedures and other emergencies
  • Must ensure compliance with safety regulations and hotel standards
  • Must be punctual in reporting to work
  • Must wear the proper uniform with a name tag
  • Must maintain personal hygiene daily
  • Must know all fire and safety rules, regulations, and policies
  • Must be able to handle more complex repairs, including HVAC systems, electrical work, and plumbing issues
